W. P. Doull of Kent Street in Charlottetown fixed a lot of bikes for people. They would go to him all the time back then.
Mr. Doull would fix at least 15 bikes a day. It might take him five minutes to fix one bike, and it might cost $3.00 to get a bike fixed.
The bicycle built for one was built for only one rider. It was faster than all the other bikes made from 1875 to 1900.
This bike was made in 1895. Bikes were a way to get around back then, as well as horses. The bike was black at the time.
This picture shows an old bicycle. Bikes were used to help people get around. This bike was sold by W.E. Dawson in the 1890's. I got this clipping out of a newspaper (the Guardian) at the Public Archives. This bike is about 100 years old.
