Jewelry was very popular back in the days of the 1900's. This store was located in Summerside, P.E.I. This jewelry could also be found in a store rather than in a catalogue. These rings are from a typical Holman's catalogue. The price ranges from then and today are quite different. For example, a Gold Filled Ring cost 75 cents.

Ladies' Cashmere Stockings

Advertisement for ladies cashmere stockings at Stanley Bros., Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Appeared in the Examiner, 23 April 1898, page 3.Ladies' Cashmere stockings were sold at Stanley Brothers. This store was located on P.E.I., and it was also a General Store. The particular types of stockings sold were Llama, Silk Finished and Linen Spliced. The stockings were made out of long English spun yarn. They also came in colors such as black and grey.

Holman's Shoe Department

Image depicts the Shoe Department at R. T. Holman Ltd., Summerside, Prince Edward Island, 1911. There are no staff or customers in the photograph, but the walls and shelves are lined with shoe boxes.

This is a picture of a shoe department in Summerside, PEI in 1911. On the shelves, there are boxes with shoes in them. Those shoes on the shelves are all different sizes, and the shelves go up about 20 feet in the air. If you wanted to get a size 9, the clerk got on the ladder on the side of the wall, slid across the wall and grabbed a size 9.
