This pamphlet, possibly published by Johnson's Drug Store, says, "Every family should keep a few remedies in their house in case of an emergency or complaints. The following list of remedies includes only the 'best' cures for diseases in the 1900s.

In the 1900s, manufacturers of remedies said that some medicines cured medical conditions that they didn't actually cure. One type of medicine that said it cured more then it really did was herb juice.
