Horse and Sleigh
Submitted by KaylaN on Tue, 12/11/2007 - 18:50.
This is a picture of a horse pulling a sleigh. It is in front of an old hotel or residence. The purpose of a sleigh was to take men and women to church or to special occasions like family events when there was snow on the ground.
The sleigh was made of hard wood. It was very stable when it was used because a professional made it.
This sleigh was used in 1890. The cost today might be about four thousand dollars. The sleigh was very common. Everyone used them. They were a part of daily life because that was how people got around.
