Ledger of John Davison, Manufacturer of Sleighs and Carriages.

Ledger book of John Davison, manufacturer of carriages and sleighs, covering the period 1883-1896. Image depicts page 21.

This is a page out of John Davison's ledger book. He was a manufacturer (creator) of sleighs and carraiages. The sleigh named here is a Lo Sleigh, I believe. It cost $40.00. That sounds pretty cheap compared to what a sleigh would cost now. A sleigh now would probably cost over a thousand dollars. They have really gone up in price.

The sleigh would have probably been made of wood and/ or metal. Don't stick your tongue to cold metal! (It hurts! >_<, especially when you try to take it off.) I have recently found out this ledger was written to cover 1883 - 1896.
