The Pot Bellied Stove

This is a stove that was in a typical 1900's General Store. The pot bellied stove looks very stylish and is not expensive. It is small and has a very fashionable look. It is very neat and is used to heat buildings, rooms or homes. The stove sits on 4 scrolled feet and it is 1/2 metre long. The pot bellied stove costs less than $3.00 and today, it would be above $10,000.00 because of the shipping, the cost of the style and the materials. Also, it's worth more because of today's economy and taxes. The stove would weigh 20-30 pounds and that's not much for a pot bellied stove. The heat was generated by burning scraps of sawdust or scraps of wood. It is hard work in winter conditions. The color of the stove is very dark blue (or black) and the color was given by a certain kind of shiny paint in cans. In the cold winter months, the stove would come in handy -- not to mention in the spring and late fall seasons. and today in our society by age it would cost $100,000.00 because of transportation age and value of the settler age.
