Boys in the early 1900's used to play sports when the chores were done. The boys loved to play sports, but their fathers made sure the chores were done before play.

Baseball Gloves

Baseball gloves have changed a lot since back then; now, we have different colours and different shapes. Back then, a normal glove would be hard to use because you would have to make fist when the ball was coming; a fielder's glove looked like a glove you'd wear in the winter.

Baseball Supplies

Image depicts page 107 and includes baseball and fishing equipment.In the 1900's, baseball players had pretty much the same baseball supplies that we do now, but the fielders' gloves looked more like our regular winter gloves. Players wore metal cleats that had three spikes on the heel of the foot.

In the 1900s, accessories like baseball gear were cheap and looked very different from today. The baseball gloves looked like work gloves, and the cleat spikes were made of metal and had to be attached to the bottom of your shoe.
